Water-based versus electric UFH and flooring choice
Water-based systems, common in new builds and larger renovations, tend to run at lower flow temperatures across a bigger area, while electric mat systems, often fitted in bathrooms or kitchens, can heat up faster and are sometimes run at higher output over a smaller footprint. Both need the same tog and temperature checks, but electric systems in particular reward a low-tog covering since output per square metre is often more limited.
