Subfloor condition in older salon units
Many salons trade from converted shop units or older high street premises, where the subfloor can be uneven, previously tiled, or have old adhesive residue left from a prior floorcovering. This needs assessing and preparing before new flooring goes down, since fitting over an unsuitable subfloor undermines the finished result regardless of the material chosen.
- Subfloor checked for level, moisture and old adhesive residue before specification is finalised
- Levelling compound used where floor tiles or uneven screed are found beneath
- Older high street units assessed individually rather than assumed suitable as-is
