A busy family kitchen, a quiet bedroom and a rented flat all need different things from a floor. We would rather understand that first than recommend a product because it is popular. The mobile showroom lets you compare options in the room itself, and the survey covers measuring and checking the base.
Ground floors can be cold. Carpet with a thicker underlay is the warmest choice, and hard floors feel warmer with the right underlay or over underfloor heating where it suits the product.
For commercial premises, we can advise on carpet tiles for office areas and safety flooring where water or grease is a risk.
If you are unsure which product fits your rooms, our guides on carpet, LVT, laminate and vinyl explain the strengths of each in plain language, so you arrive at the survey already knowing what questions to ask. Many customers find that a short read beforehand makes the choice much quicker once the samples are laid out on their own floor.
Ramsgate: common questions
- What is the warmest floor for a cold room?
- Carpet with good underlay. Our underlay types guide explains the options.
- Can you help me choose between carpet and LVT?
- Yes. Our carpet versus LVT guide sets out the trade offs, and we bring samples of both.
- Do you supply trade customers?
- Supply only is available if you have your own fitter.
- Can I mix carpet and hard flooring in one room?
- It can work, for example LVT around a kitchen area and carpet in a lounge end. The join needs a suitable trim, and we will show you the options for making the transition neat and safe.
